Student Insights – Josh’s Story

We asked our students to send us their experiences of learning with us. Here is what Josh said…

Enrollment was quick and simple, with plenty of advice from the off. I was generally very happy with the work done by the Student Advice Team, especially with helping me find a centre where I could take the oral exams.

On Studying with OOL

Oxford Open Learning gave me a chance to get to a university, a place where I thought I had no chance of going before I was enrolled on the course. I am now studying at a top 15 university, doing French and Spanish with Business Studies, and couldn’t be happier. The course rekindled my love for learning and provided me with the tools to be successful in future studies. These skills include working independently, creating study plans for revision and general work and organizational skills. My level of Spanish is much higher than many of classmates and the quality of learning meant I could achieve the grade I wanted. The learning process was streamlined and provided access to a wide variety of resources that aided me greatly. The tutor was also very thorough and understanding towards my needs.

On results day, I couldn’t have been happier. I was jumping around and hugging all my family after receiving my result, which turned out to be an A. I had received an unconditional offer from my university and it was the happiest I’d been in a long while. That was all made possible because of Oxford Open Learning. It was the catalyst for my success and without it I wouldn’t be where I am today. I owe everything to OOL for making my future that much brighter.

I am now set to attain a First in my first year of university, and everyone comments on how well I’m doing. I look forward to what the future has in store for me. Thank you, Oxford Open Learning.
