It’s that time of year, folks. I don’t mean that time of year when we celebrate our children’s achievements in passing their exams before they go on to F.E. College or University, though. No, it’s time instead to nod sagely when we see a teenager with 10 A*s, and say: “They wouldn’t have got those marks in my day”.
It is generally accepted that our children are working harder than ever, from a younger age then ever, and are arguably under more pressure than ever. Yet despite this, the familiar sentiment of “having it easy” continues to rear its head.
Now, I don’t know what is behind this little piece of psychological warfare in the battle of the generations, but I for one think it’s time to lay down the gauntlet and ask, Would You Pass?
Well would you? Would you do better at GCSE or O level? That is what Oxford Open Learning’s new interactive quiz aims to find out.
So what are you waiting for? Would you pass? Take the test and challenge your friends to take it too, via facebook or twitter.
And finally, if you feel the urge to shake your head when you hear the next set of exam results, resist.
