Students completing in 2023 and later years
Students completing in 2022 and later years will be prepared for Edexcel Spanish A level syllabus 9SP0.
No AS level option is available for this specification.
Assessment in 2023 and later years
Paper 1 – Listening Reading and Translation – 2 hours 40%
Paper 2 -Written response to works and translation – 2 hours 40 minutes 30%
Paper 3 –Speaking – 21 to 23 minutes 30%
As with most A levels, it is necessary to have 4 GCSE grade C/4 or above to study the A level. These GCSEs must include Spanish.

It’s also recommended that you have access to a Spanish speaker for additional practice with the spoken aspect of the course.
