As a police officer coming towards the end of my career, I needed to have a Maths GCSE to enable me to apply to be a teacher. I didn’t do too well in this subject at school but when the pack came it seemed to be tailor made for a beginner like me. I got through the course with the understanding and patient help of my tutor John and passed my GCSE to the required standard. I start as a student teacher in September and the Maths GCSE was the final piece of the jigsaw I needed. I had to study at my own pace and Oxford Open Learning home study allowed me to do just that.
