Distance Learning A level Maths and Mechanics - The Course
The Maths A level course is split into two major components - AS and A2. The AS level can be sat in its own right.
Each lesson begins with a set of clearly stated objectives and an explanation of its place in the overall programme of study. Effective learning is encouraged through frequent activities and self-assessment questions. The AS Level has thirteen tutor-marked assignments (known as TMAs). The A2 has a further eleven TMAs.

The Maths A level course covers the seven units in six modules of the following titles:
AS Level
P1: algebra, trigonometry, integration, etc
P2: exponentials, logarithms, etc
M1: Mechanics: vectors, forces, projectiles, etc
A2 Level
P4: algebraic functions, coordinate
geometry etc.
P5: vectors, further coordinate geometry, etc
M2: Newton's laws of motion, kinematics etc
The Syllabus
This course prepares candidates for the AQA Mathematics AS level syllabus 5321, for examination in 2008 and later years. Most candidates will then study the A2 syllabus 6321. The full Advanced Level qualification comprises AS and A2. We have chosen this syllabus as the mosted suited for Distance Learning.
Assessment is by three written papers for the AS Level and three written papers for the A2 Level.
Coursework
There is no coursework for the Mathematics A level.
