What is Distance Learning?

Studying at Home by Distance Learning

At Oxford Open Learning, distance learning involves studying a structured course, usually in preparation for an external examination, with the flexibility to choose your own time and place in which to study.

When you decide to study with Oxford Open Learning, you will be provided with a course pack which has been specifically written to the syllabus of the awarding body of your chosen qualification.

You will receive a high level of support from your personal tutor and your student adviser by phone, email and post.

You will also receive assistance from our dedicated Exams Officer when you register for your examination(s) and, where appropriate, submit coursework to the examiners.

All our students also receive a copy of our 220-page book How to Study at Home which is full of useful tips on how to establish a good study routine, improve your study skills and preparate for exams.
